Belief in falsehoods? What isn't a falsehood considering the ever changing nature of belief and behavior. Is it so bad to believe in a falsehood when such allow evolutionary growth?

Ayn Rand discusses the objective as crucial to grasping reality. Though in the same breath she relates the reality is fixed. She also relates sensory reconstruction distorts individual perception of fixed reality.

I am not so sure fixed reality is so important.

Though a reality be fixed; there are almost infinite ways of working or dealing with such realities. As such, fixed or not; reality is very flexible in how one views subjectively or objectively.

Primarily, when it comes to sex, we just think we know what it is. I am not so sure the sexual reality is locked in to the present day belief. Truth, much can be accomplished through sex magick or tantra; but what we do know for sure, is that most females have the potential to conceive and born a baby.

Secondarily, most sexual views are based on subjective feelings and tend to escape into transcendentalism or nebulous theories.

The paradox of sexual magick and non superstitious sex is complicated. Sexual magick has been attributed to all kinds of sensations, feelings, and cosmic theory. Yet, non superstitious sex is less complicated and accepts the moment as the is. They both portend to be evolutionary rubrics in so far as one must deal with the proverbial human factors frequently found in the background. Chiefly, the so called "fixed reality" may be none or all of the above; and steeped in pretend and falsehood.

Check out Allen Saulnier's novel, The War in Heaven. It is the story of Satan being expelled from Heaven from Satan's point of view. Pazuzu, Lilith also play large roles.

Sorry Ron,

The Crystal Tablet is only available to members of the Temple of Set. If you are interested in joining the cost is far less and you should follow the instruction available on the Temple's website at xeper.org.

Fixed in the mix. Yessir. Good work. ;) Last week or so I warned myself away from the ToS because of the controversy of this identity; but hearing the voice of a man usually dispels the demons of public projection... hey, you just reminded me of the Purifier from Riddick - we all began as something else. ;(

Sadly placebo cures for cancer don't have that kind of effect. There is a good discussion of this at http://www.cancer.org/Treatment/TreatmentsandSideEffects/TreatmentTypes/placebo-effect Also I think it is telling that your examples of faith in action both use belief in falsehoods as examples of the power of faith. Perhaps that is the problem itself, that faith so often means belief in falsehoods.

If you are interested in how Dr. Hyatt used the idea of Brain Chance see http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8685900848583329138 in particular his discussion of how the neo-cortex is wired to take in signals form the back-brain but not that well wired to send them. As far as methods for brain change check into Jeffery M. Schwartz' work particularly his book _The Mind and the Brain_.
